Spotify down – what has happened?
Online outage tracker Down Detector logged thousands of user complaints on Wednesday, starting at around 2pm UK time – morning for the USA.
That likely means that tens of thousands of users – and potentially more – are affected by the outage.
The vast majority of users are complaining about music-streaming, while a handful have reported issues with logging in.
It seems as though Spotify isn’t working on supported devices too, including the popular Sonos multi-room speakers.

Spotify not working – what are users saying?
Frustrated Spotify users have flocked to Twitter to moan about the outage.
Prominent technology journalist Tom Warren tweeted: “Spotify is down, it’s not just you.
“Songs are only playing for a few seconds or not at all.”
Another user tweeted: “Running to Twitter every time Spotify is down to see if it’s everyone else and not just mine.”
And one forlorn listener said: “Man with Spotify down I just realised how dependent I am on music to keep me sane.”

Spotify offline – is there an official response?
Spotify is yet to release an official statement about the outage.
The firm’s support account on Twitter – @SpotifyCares – hasn’t posted about the issue.
And the Spotify Status page – an official account that tracks outages – also hasn’t posted about the app not working.
We’ve asked Spotify for comment and will update this story with any response.
