Snapchat score: How does it work, how do I increase it and what’s the highest score?
SENDING pictures and videos on Snapchat is a fun way to connect with friends but you can rack up a large Snapchat score in the process.
So how does the Snapchat score system work, how can you increase your Snapchat score and what is the highest Snapchat score?
You can view your Snapchat score on your profile page, and it is the number next to your username
What is a Snapchat score?
Your Snapchat score is the number that is logged by your username on your profile.
If you tap on your score, two numbers come up which provide more information.
The first is how many Snaps you have sent, and the second is how many you have received.
Maths whizzes will realise that these two numbers added together don’t total your full Snapchat score, and the app has confirmed other factors can help boost the total.
The highest user in 2018 was managing 17,000 to 30,000 points per day.

How do you increase your Snapchat score?
Snapchat has said that your number will rise depending on the following:
- the number of snaps you send
- the number of snaps you receive
- stories you post
- other factors (they didn’t define what these are)
Do chats and stories increase your Snapchat score?
The good news is you get a point if you post a Snap to your story.
But you won’t receive extra points if you simply watch someone else’s story.
You can also receive a point for sending or receiving a Snap, but you don’t get anything extra for just sending a message.

What does your Snapchat score do?
Hardly any other social media site uses a scoring system to “rank” its users.
It isn’t clear what the benefits of a high score can be, but you unlock trophies in the app depending on what your total is.
Trophies are given when a Snapchat user earns special achievements on the app, and they come in the form of emojis.
This can be from achieving a certain score, using particular filters, sending creative Snaps, or having your story posted on Live Story.
