Leaked ‘iPhone 13 feature’ will let you make calls or texts with NO signal

APPLE’S upcoming iPhone may be able to make calls via satellite.

According to a report from Bloomberg, the technology will allow the iPhone 13 to send texts and make calls without any signal.

The top-secret mobile is expected to be unveiled by Apple within weeks.

Its satellite capabilities will be reserved for emergency situations, Bloomberg said.

The feature will make it possible to contact first responders in areas with poor reception.

One tool will reportedly allow users to text emergency services and emergency contacts via satellite when they don’t have signal.

Those messages will have a length limit and will appear in iMessage as grey bubbles, instead of the traditional blue or green.

When you message an emergency contact, it’ll reportedly be pushed through even if that contact has Do Not Disturb mode turned on.

Another feature will let users report emergencies.

“The phone will ask what kind of emergency is happening, such as whether it involves a car, boat, plane or fire,” Bloomberg reports.

You’ll also be able fire over information such as your location and Medical ID.

While the technology to make satelite calls will feature in the iPhone 13, the tool will not be available until next year, a source told Bloomberg.

Bloomberg’s report followed claims by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo that the iPhone 13 will feature satellite connectivity.

The trusted leaker regularly reveals details about Apple’s plans before the company announces them.

Kuo’s reveal suggested that satellite texts and calls will be possible on the new model, while Bloomberg clarified that they will be reserved for emergencies.

Apple typically hosts an iPhone launch event in September each year which it uses to unveil a range of new mobiles as well as other gadgets.

The iPhone 13 isn’t expected to be a huge upgrade on last year’s iPhone 12 – but Apple is always full of surprises.

This year’s showcase is expected to fall on September 14 with the handsets shipping worldwide ten days later.

Leaks and rumours suggest that four models are in the works: The iPhone 13 Max Pro, the iPhone 13 Pro, the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 Mini.

They’ll reportedly range in price from around £600/$600 all the way up to £1,500/$1,500.

Of course, Apple hasn’t officially announced a new iPhone or a 2021 September event yet, so take all rumours with a pinch of salt for now.
